In the course of serving our customers Insider gather information about users of our websites, products, and services. It is important that you understand the terms and conditions surrounding our capture and use of that information.

Your privacy is of the utmost importance to Insider Software (hereinafter referred to as “Insider”, “we” and “us”). This privacy statement discloses the specific information that we gather about you, how we use it, and how you can correct or change it.

Information Tracked by Insider

Insider Software gathers these types of information about users:

  • Data that you provide through optional, voluntary registrations when you request information or trial software
  • Data that you voluntarily provide to Insider to process the purchase of products or services
  • Data that you voluntarily provide us when you register your identity or license keys with our customer service system
  • Data that we gather by aggregating tracking information about how you and others use our website and services

Such information enables us to better tailor our content to visitors’ needs and provide better service to them.

How Insider Gathers Information

Insider Software gathers user information using the following processes:

Purchasing a product or service

Our order forms contain information required to successfully process a credit card transaction and/or register you with Insider to receive technical support and other customer benefits detailed below. All sensitive information including credit card numbers are always collected via a secure server implementing SSL to prevent unauthorized access during transmission of the data. Storing credit card information

Insider does not store credit card information in our online e-commerce store. If you sign up for a subscription service with Insider, your credit card information may be stored in an encrypted manner with Authorize.net, our secure card processing service.

Registering a product or service

Customers may purchase Insider’s products and services from a variety of sources. In the event a purchase was not made directly from Insider Software, the customer must provide registration information to be eligible for technical support, preferential upgrade pricing, and other benefits as detailed below.

Submitting an information form

Users may request Technical Support and Customer Support via telephone and email through numerous support forms. Your correct email address is required for Insider representatives to reply to such requests.

Downloading a demo

Insider may request a user’s name and email address prior to downloading a demonstration version or trial of our software or service.

Visiting our websites

Insider websites may ask your Internet browser to set a “cookie” on your system. A cookie file can contain personal information such as a user ID, but the only personal data a cookie can contain is data you supply yourself. A cookie can’t read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites.

  • Insider uses cookies to personalize and customize your web experience to your needs.
  • We also use cookies to track user traffic patterns, but we never know that a specific user viewed a particular page.
  • If you’ve set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message for each cookie.
  • You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. You do not need to accept cookies to use any Insider site.
  • If you choose to reject cookies, some services offered on Insider websites may be affected such as saving the contents of your shopping cart for future use.

Use of Personal Information

To process an order from you or to fulfill a request from you for information, we require a minimum amount of personal information. You control which personal information you choose to share with us. We use the personal information you voluntarily provide to register you, process sales transactions, send product information, provide technical support, and improve your experience at our websites.

Processing a sales transaction
Certain information is required to successfully process purchase transactions. Insider follows industry-standard specifications for storing and processing all sales transaction records.

Registering a customer
We automatically register all users who purchase software or services from Insider’s secure order server. This entitles you to receive technical support based on the particular product’s or service’s support policies. In addition, you are informed, usually via email, of special promotions, software product or service updates and upgrades, and new products and services. Your registration information is also used to locate your records in our database and you regarding urgent matters.

Maintaining order and license records
We keep records of your purchases of Insider products and services and for the licenses associated with those purchases. To maintain those records, we use identifiers that can include an email address or login name that uniquely identify you. To maintain those records for you are preserve your license rights, you must consent to our using those unique identifiers.

Submitting an information form
Your name, email address, and hardware configuration details may be required for Insider representatives to reply to your requests for support, service and/or sales assistance.

Improving our website experience
Insider uses tracking information to determine which areas of our sites are of interest to visitors based on traffic to those areas. Insider does not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better website for you. As part of this effort, we use Google Analytics, which tracks information about your website sessions and transmits them to Google computers. Google Analytics does not collection personally identifiable information about you.

Sharing Personal Information

We do not share information about individual users with any third party without your consent except as noted below.

Insider will cooperate with all legitimate local, state, national, and international law enforcement agencies and provide any information ordered by a legal warrant or official request.

Insider will cooperate with its established credit card payment services and pursue convictions for all fraudulent credit card transactions entered on Insider’s secure servers. We will provide information as requested by the credit card payment service to settle any customer disputes pertaining to charges made to the user’s credit card by Insider.

Transmitting Private Information

Insider does business globally and as a part of our operations, we process your service requests and orders for our products and services. When we process your requests, we transmit personal information in an encrypted form back and forth across the Internet. By providing personal information as you interact with our websites and services from outside the United States, you grant permission for us to transmit your personal information across international borders to our servers in the United States.

Whenever we transfer your private information to third parties or authorities or across international borders, we will maintain safeguards to preserve the privacy of your information during such transfers, as required by the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Opt-Out Policy

Insider gives you the option to suppress all but critical communications pertinent to their account with us.

If you receive advertising, promotions, newsletters of other electronic communication from Insider, you can click on the unsubscribe, opt-out or subscription preferences link in the communication. We will comply with your request in a reasonable time as required by applicable law.

To be removed from all special promotions, software product or service updates and upgrades, and new product or service announcements, you can:

  • Send an email from the account to be removed with the solitary word ‘REMOVE’ in the subject and addressed to privacy@insidersoftware.com
  • Call our office during normal business hours and request to be removed. For authentication, we will send an email to the address. We must receive a reply confirming the removal before the email address will be removed.
  • Send a letter including the email address to be removed to the address shown in the ‘Contacting Insider’ section below.

Additional Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, you have the right to request Insider to delete or restrict the processing of your personal information from our records, in accordance with GDPR.

You can make such a request if the reason for our collecting it is no longer valid and there are no other legal reasons for our continuing to store or process your information. If you request, we will delete your information within ten business days from our marketing records. To maintain our ability to validate the licenses for Insider products and services that you have purchased, we may need to continue storing your email address in our records.
